The property is on the popular Via San Vittore a pedestrianised cobbled thoroughfare, offering a superb range of shops specializing in leather goods, perfumes, lingerie etc.

The property itself is a charming traditional 400-year-old apartment on the third floor. It has a modern kitchen and shower room, a large lounge-diner with two balconies, furnished with local Italian furniture, a double bedroom with a balcony and ample wardrobe and cupboard space.

The kitchen boasts a cooker, fridge - freezer, washing machine, coffee percolator, steam iron and board with plenty of cookware, cutlery and plates etc.

The apartment is originally tiled which, together with the shutters helps to keep it cool in the summer. However there is a gas combi boiler, which provides instant hot water and central heating when necessary in the winter.
Bedding is provided but not towels.

Travel

Air - to Milan-Malpensa, 50 kms to Intra
Milan - Linate, 100 kms to Intra.

Car hire is available at both airports. Free 24 hour parking is available within 200 mtrs of the apartment.

From Malpensa there is a direct coach route to Intra (Alibus) every 3 hours 7.30 to 20.30.

If your flight fails to connect conveniently with Alibus there is a Rail/ferry alternative.

Rail - Malpensa Express to Saronno then local train to
Laveno-Mombello Nord and car ferry to Intra.
Journey time varies but about 2+ hrs.

Lake Maggiore is on 2 major international routes, rail - the Paris - Milan Express and road - the Simplon Pass between Lake Geneva and Milan.

Depending on mode of transport, advice is available from the owner.

Walking

The whole area is a walkers' paradise, providing
easy access to "Comunita Montana" and
The "Val Grande" National Park. www.parcovalgrande.it

All footpaths are well marked and there are
innumerable routes for all abilities that lead to
spectacular mountain views, waterfalls, hidden
villages with bars and offering wonderful views of
the lake.

Walking maps are available at the bookshop on
the corner of Piazza San Vittore and Via Garibaldi.
